Author Christyal Rood believes many of us are facing similar issues in life, if not the same. Rood believes we are all searching for something to make us feel wanted, loved, and accepted. In her book Found Identity, she discusses the pain she has encountered and the constant search for love and acceptance in various ways through short poetic stories, quotes, and photographs. Through her own journey, she discovered once we stop running from the deep rooted pain and face it head on, healing begins. Rood was once a young girl who was hurt and refused to ever experience such pain again. Little did she know, her running from it is what increased it and caused her to repeat it over and over. Found Identity proves that love, joy, and peace can be obtained and depicts this through the art forms mentioned inside. The misconception many have is that time heals all wounds. It requires time plus proper care of the wound. Found Identity is a passage through her enslavement to pain, and her journey to freedom.
